How I Transformed My Closet Into a Recording Space
Since I've moved into my new house, I've struggled with finding a space where I could create and record my YouTube videos without having to move things around constantly. If I record in the living room, I have to move my lighting and tripod which can be a pain when there's people around or noises that could interfere with the recording... and even though it's an excuse, I feel like it was preventing me from recording as often as I'd like. Then one day while on Twitter, I came across a tweet where a girl transformed her closet into a beauty room (I took a screenshot but never got her @).
I WAS SHOOK!
I instantly looked into my closet and thought "oh no honey, you gotta go!" Without thinking twice, I got to work.I started to clear out everything. Gave a bunch of clothes away, put things I don't wear often in my dads closet, under my bed, basically anywhere. Once it was clear, I was debating on leaving the back wall blank so I could switch out different backdrop colored paper, but I've always loved how grass walls look and decided to do some research. I ended up purchasing this Artificial Boxwood from Amazon (it took me 2 packs to fill up my entire wall) and was extremely impressed with the quality. There are also little white flowers in it, which give it a nice dimension as well. When you open the package, on the backside of the boxwood there are plastic connectors where you can secure each piece to other other (I also used zip ties for additional security). It took me two orders of the Boxwood to fill up my entire wall.Once the wall was done, it was time to decorate! I picked up this desk and fairy string lights from Target, What Would Beyonce Do frame from Etsy (you can make this yourself - I saw the frames at Michaels), Himalayan Salt Lamp from Amazon, and rug from Ikea. I also have the Diva Ring Light Nova.and BAM! dassit. I'm so in love with it and I can't wait to continue decorating. I'm thinking of maybe putting some chalkboard paper on one side of the wall.... maybe a Dezi Does It neon sign. SO MUCH ROOM FOR ACTIVITIES!Happy New Year! Keep slayin'.
